It slowly evaporates in steam.Vanillylacetone is recognized by FEMA as GRAS, with FEMA number 3124, and approved for consumption by the FDA. It is listed by the European Council at a dosage level of 15mg/kg in the list of artificial flavors that can be used in food and are harmless to human health.
